Mikveh

Emanuel Synagogue is very fortunate to have a mikveh on premesis.  The mikveh was funded through the generosity of Aaron Slutzky, of blessed memory, who donated it in memory of his parents and the friends and neighbors from their shtetl in Poland who were lost during the Holocaust.  We are tremendously grateful to all he has done for our community.

A mikveh is used for many different kinds of immersion, including monthly immersion, immersion weekly before Shabbat or annually before Yom Kippur or Pesach, and conversion.
  • Our mikveh is available for use by any Jewish person, subject to approval by Rabbi Jacobson and the Emanuel Synagogue Ritual Committee.
  • Please request use of the mikveh at least four days ahead of time.  If you are unsure of the exact day you will need the mikveh, please be as specific as possible.
  • Our mikveh is only open for one person at a time, and appointments are spaced to allow privacy.  Both men and women may request appointments during either daytime or evening, as is convenient.
  • Members of Emanuel Synagogue have free use of the mikveh, though we request a donation of $36/use, if you feel able and moved to do so.
  • Use of the mikveh for conversion costs $100/adult for Rabbi Jacobson's converts, and $180/adult for all other converts.  We are happy to allow the conversion of children at no charge.
