Fairlawn Cemetery

The Jewish section of Fairlawn Cemetery is the original Jewish cemetery serving greater central Oklahoma.  Both Temple B'nai Israel and Emanuel Synagogue used this cemetery, and many members of every synagogue in the area have older relatives buried there.  As this cemetery filled up, the Synagogue opened its own Jewish cemetery, as did the Temple.

Emanuel Hebrew Cemetery

Emanuel Hebrew Cemetery is the primary Jewish cemetery serving the Emanuel Synagogue community.

For information about purchasing cemetery plots, please use the contact form to the right.

***Please note:  Emanuel Hebrew Cemetery is available only for members of the greater central Oklahoma Jewish community and their families.  We regret that we cannot offer cemetery plots to people from other states without prior affiliation with Emanuel Synagogue.

Jewish Burial for Interfaith Couples

Emanuel Synagogue is in the process of opening a cemetery section for interfaith couples.  Jewish spouses will have a fully traditional Jewish burial, officiated by our rabbi.  Non-Jewish spouses may have a Jewish-inspired or a neutral secular burial, officiated by our rabbi.

This section has been made possible through the generous donations of our members and their families.

In matters of Jewish law, our rabbi and our cemetery committee consulted traditional Jewish texts regarding the burial of Jews and non-Jews in the same cemetery.  Each of these traditional rules will be respected in this joint burial space, standing alongside the very traditional Jewish values of family and inclusion that led to the creation of this space.
