PUBLIC RELATIONS

The FLOWER FUND provides fresh flowers for the pulpit, special occasions, and holidays and maintains floral arrangements for the bima year-round. Contributions may be made to this fund at any time.

The KITCHEN Chairman supervises the Synagogue kitchen facility and its staff, schedules the kitchen for catered functions, and sees that the standards of kashrut are maintained.
|

|
The MEMBERSHIP Chairman provides information to potential members, welcomes new members, and helps to coordinate volunteer activities.
|
| |
|
The MITZVAH committee offers support and assistance on behalf of Sisterhood and calls on the bereaved and on those hospitalized, in nursing homes, or convalescing at home.
|

|
ONEG SHABBAT. Sisterhood provides the Oneg Shabbat each Friday evening. If there is a special occasion for which you would like to sponsor an Oneg Shabbat, please contact the Synagogue Office.

The PROGRAM Committee arranges enlightening, entertaining, and educational programs for the monthly Sisterhood meetings. Suggestions for future programs are welcomed.

The PUBLICITY Chairman writes the monthly articles and notices for the Sisterhood column in the Emanuel Synagogue Bulletin.
|

|
SUNSHINE NOTES are sent to Synagogue members extending Sisterhood greetings and condolences.

EDUCATION
|
| |
|
The HISTORIAN Committee keeps a pictorial record of Sisterhood events, luncheons, and projects.
|

|
The JUNIOR CONGREGATION Committee provides a Rosh Hodesh Luncheon once a month for the children of our Hebrew School participating in the Junior Congregation program.
|

|
The RELIGIOUS SCHOOL Committee provides symbolic refreshment for Sunday School students to celebrate the Jewish Holidays.
|

|
The SISTERHOOD SHABBAT, in which Sisterhood members conduct a Saturday Shabbat morning service, is organized by the Education Vice-President.
|

|
The TORAH FUND was created to further the activities and development of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Each Sisterhood member shares part of this responsibility by participating in a special fund-raising event each year.

WAYS AND MEANS

The ANNUAL DIRECTORY Committee gathers the information, orders the printing of the Annual Calendar/Membership Directory, and distributes the book to Sisterhood members. Additional copies are sold in the Gift Shop and at the Synagogue office for $6.00. Selling ads is one of our largest fund-raising projects. Donations from sponsors are welcome.

GROCERY CERTIFICATES. Sisterhood receives a percentage of sales whenever an "Albertson's Community Partners Card" is shown at the time of purchase. Get your Albertson's Card from this committee.

LEAGRAMS serve to remember friends and associates on special occasions. A small donation sends a personal message on your behalf.

The JUDAICA GIFT SHOP Committee manages our Gift Shop, which helps to support Synagogue activities through sales of items of Jewish interest and beauty.

NEW YEAR'S GREETING. At New Year's, you may arrange for an insertion in the mailing that offers New Year's Greetings to the congregation.

|
SPECIAL AFFAIRS. This committee plans and caters the Kiddush Dinner and the Latke Dinner.

TEALESS TEA. For your donation, this summer fund-raiser gives you a tea bag. You supply the glass and ice and enjoy without having to dress up and go out.
